1. Personal Data / KVKK Information Notice

Data controller: Canan Ayten Dörtkol — Email: cayten@cad-synapse.com

This notice is provided under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”) to inform you about the personal data processed in connection with CATHEORA (the “Service”).

Personal data processed and purposes

  • Account data: your email address; your password (stored only as a bcrypt hash — the password itself is not stored); your email verification status and a short-lived verification code; the account creation date. Purpose: creating your account, signing in and verifying your identity.
  • Usage and account status data: your question allowance (quota), usage count and plan information. Purpose: providing the Service and tracking usage rights.
  • Session data: a session key (cookie) created to keep you signed in. Purpose: session continuity and security.
  • Question images and solution outputs: the math question image you upload, the question content read from it and the generated solution report. Purpose: generating and delivering the solution you request.
  • Feedback data: your 👍/👎 rating, your optional written comment and technical details of the related solution (such as the solution session identifier, question type and language). Purpose: evaluating solution quality and improving the Service.
  • Security and abuse-prevention data: identifiers derived from your IP address and your account details (email address, user ID). These are not kept in raw form in our database but as pseudonymised (hashed) identifiers. Purpose: preventing abuse of the Service, rate limiting and information security.

Method of collection

Your personal data is collected electronically through the CATHEORA web application during registration, sign-in, image upload and feedback, and partly by automated means (session cookie, server records).

Legal grounds

Your personal data is processed on the legal grounds set out in Article 5(2) of the KVKK: processing being directly related to the establishment or performance of a contract (providing your account and the service you request), compliance with the data controller’s legal obligations, and the data controller’s legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention and improving the Service), provided that your fundamental rights and freedoms are not harmed.

Transfers

Your personal data is shared only to the extent necessary to provide the Service, with the service providers that operate its technical infrastructure (the AI solution engine, email delivery and hosting). These providers and the data shared with them are listed in the Privacy Policy section. Because some of these providers are located outside Türkiye or may process data outside Türkiye, your personal data may be transferred abroad.

Retention

Your personal data is kept for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it is processed, without prejudice to statutory retention periods under applicable legislation. Question images and solution outputs are kept for as long as necessary for the operation of the Service and are deleted periodically. Account data is kept for as long as your account exists; you can request the deletion of your account and related data at the email address below.

Your rights under Article 11 of the KVKK

By applying to the data controller, you have the right to:

  • learn whether your personal data is processed,
  • request information if your personal data has been processed,
  • learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used in accordance with that purpose,
  • know the third parties to whom your personal data is transferred in Türkiye or abroad,
  • request the correction of incomplete or inaccurate personal data,
  • request the deletion or destruction of your personal data under the conditions set out in Article 7 of the KVKK,
  • request that correction, deletion or destruction be notified to the third parties to whom your personal data has been transferred,
  • object to a result to your detriment arising from the analysis of the processed data exclusively through automated systems,
  • claim compensation for damages arising from the unlawful processing of your personal data.

You can send your requests from the email address registered to your CATHEORA account to cayten@cad-synapse.com. You can also contact us at the same address for information on other application methods.

2. Privacy Policy

This policy summarises which data is processed and how when you use CATHEORA. For details of the data categories processed, see the KVKK Information Notice section.

AI processing

The question image you upload and the accompanying solution instructions are sent to Google’s Gemini API to generate the solution. Google’s processing of this data is subject to Google’s applicable service terms.

Feedback

The 👍/👎 rating you give a solution, your optional comment and technical details of the related solution are recorded. Negative ratings and written comments are also forwarded to the Service operator through the configured email infrastructure. Please do not include personal information in your comments.

Service providers

  • Google — Gemini API: AI solution engine; question images and solution instructions.
  • Resend: transactional email delivery; your email address and verification code, and feedback content forwarded to the Service operator.
  • Render: hosting; data processed by the Service is kept on servers and storage running on this infrastructure. Traffic to the Service may pass through content delivery and security services such as Cloudflare as part of the hosting provider’s network infrastructure.
  • Google Fonts: when pages load, your browser downloads font files from Google’s servers, which sends connection information such as your IP address to Google.

Your personal data is not sold and is not shared with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. No payments are currently taken through the Service, and no card or payment details are processed.

Processing outside Türkiye

Some of the providers above are located outside Türkiye or may process data outside Türkiye. Your personal data may therefore be processed outside Türkiye to the extent necessary to provide the Service.

Cookies and browser storage

A session cookie that cannot be read by JavaScript (httponly) is used to keep you signed in; it is kept in your browser for at most 30 days, and your session ends when you sign out. Your light/dark theme preference is stored only in your browser’s local storage and is not sent to the server. No analytics or advertising cookies are used.

Security

The Service is provided over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), passwords are stored only in hashed form, and your solution reports can be accessed only with your own account. Identifiers used for abuse prevention are kept in our database in pseudonymised (hashed) rather than raw form; however, hosting and network infrastructure providers may process connection data such as IP addresses in their own records as part of the technical operation of the Service. While reasonable technical and organisational measures are taken, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely risk-free.

Content you upload

Please do not include personal information such as your name, school or contact details in question images or comments.
